Statement by India during Interactive Dialogue at 4th UPR of Cabo Verde during the 44th Session of Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group (6-17 November 2023) delivered by Mr.K.S.Mohammed Hussain, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India, Geneva on Geneva, 7 November 2023
Thank you Mr. Vice President,
India thanks the delegation of Cabo Verde for the presentation of its National Report.
2. We take note of Cabo Verde’s ratification of several international instruments, including Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance; Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction; and Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and other forms of Family Maintenance.
3. We take note with interest that Cabo Verde has progressively implemented the Second National Plan for Human Rights and Citizenship and is considering a new model for the composition of the National Commission for Human Rights and Citizenship, following international best practice.
4. We commend Cabo Verde for the preparation of the National Plan for Equality between Men and Women and recommend its effective implementation.
5. We wish the delegation of Cabo Verde success in all its endeavours.
