Ambassador Priyanka Chauhan 
Deputy Permanent Representative

Born in 1978, and joining the Indian Foreign Service in 2004, Mrs. Priyanka Chauhan is an Indian career diplomat, who joined her current position in Geneva in July 2022.

She has served as the Consul General of India to Hong Kong and Macau SARs, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Commonwealth Secretary-General in the Common wealth Secretariat in London, and as Head of Chancery in Embassy of India in Madrid. She has also served in various capacities in the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, including as the Head of the Finance Division, and in Divisions handling India’s bilateral relations with the US, Canada, Nepal, and Bhutan.

Her graduate degree is in architecture from CEPT Ahmedabad, and while in the foreign service she also earned a post-graduate degree in defence & strategic studies during her posting in DSSC Wellington, India’s premier tri-service military institution.

Before becoming a diplomat, she briefly practiced architecture, and worked as a journalist for one of India’s leading national newspapers, The Times of India.

She is married to Mr. Gurpreet Singh, a tech entrepreneur, and they have one daughter.
