Renunciation of OCI Registration

Surrender / Renunciation of OCI card

Application for Renunciation of OCI Registration is to be made under the OCI Miscellaneous Services option https://ociservices.gov.in/welcome.

Applicants will then be required to Select the “Declaration of the Renunciation” service and commence registration. If applicant is married then select the appropriate column and fill in details of the spouse. If applicant has a minor child/children who is registered as OCI card holder (s), all particulars of the child/children will be required. Once Part A is complete, applicants will need to upload relevant documents and submit the form. The Renunciation of OCI Registration form will be generated. Applicants will then be required to get a printout and submit the duly signed Renunciation of OCI Registration form at CGI, Geneva along with copy and Original OCI Booklet, passport on which OCI Card was issued, current passport, and a letter/ self- declaration stating detailed reason for the surrender of the OCI. The old (if applicable) and current passports will be returned after sighting by the CGI officer. Note: Vide Circular No.26011/06/2015-OCI dated 29th January, 2015 of Ministry of Home Affairs, all immigration authorities in India will not insist on production of the foreign passport containing the 'U' Visa sticker in the case of OCI cardholders while they enter/ exit India and the immigration clearance will be granted based on production of the 'OCI Card ONLY'.
