Madam Vice-President,

India welcomes the delegation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for the adoption of the report of the UPR Working Group on its 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review held on 7 November 2024.

2. The review saw substantive participation with 129 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 294 recommendations. We appreciate the constructive engagement of the delegation of DPRK during the entire review, which reflects their commitment to the UPR process.

3. India appreciates that as many as 143 recommendations have been accepted by DPRK, including the three recommendations made by us.

4. While recommending the adoption of their UPR report, we wish the delegation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea success in their efforts towards implementing the accepted recommendations.

I thank you.
