Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of Qatar at the 58th Session of Human Rights Council (24 February - 4 April 2025), delivered by Mr. Mohammed Hussain K.S., Counsellor & Legal Adviser, Permanent Mission of India, Geneva on 26 March 2025

Mr. President/Vice President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of Qatar for the adoption of the report of the UPR Working Group on its 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review held on 12 November 2024.

2. The review saw substantive participation with 112 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 317 recommendations. We appreciate the constructive engagement of the delegation of Qatar during the entire review, which reflects their commitment to the UPR process.

3. India appreciates that as many as 245 recommendations have been accepted by Qatar, including the four recommendations made by us.

4. While recommending the adoption of their UPR report, we congratulate the delegation of Qatar on a successful review and wish them success in their efforts towards implementing the accepted recommendations.
