Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of North Macedonia at the 57th Session of Human Rights Council (9 September – 11 October 2024), delivered by Mr. Kshitij Tyagi, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India, Geneva, 27 September 2024

Madam Vice President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of North Macedonia for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review held on 2 May 2024.

2. The review saw substantive and constructive participation with 67 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 205 recommendations. We appreciate the constructive engagement of the delegation of North Macedonia during the entire review, which reflects their commitment to the UPR process.

3. India appreciates that as many as 191 recommendations have been accepted by North Macedonia, including all four recommendations made by us. 

4. While recommending the adoption of their UPR report, we congratulate the delegation of North Macedonia on a successful review and wish them success in their efforts for implementing the accepted recommendations.
