Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of China at the 56th Session of Human Rights Council (18 June – 12 July 2024), Permanent Mission of India, Geneva,  4 July 2024

Mr. President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of China for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review held on 23 January 2024.

2.  The review saw substantive and constructive participation with 161 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 428 recommendations.
  
3.  We appreciate that all three recommendations made by India were accepted by the Chinese delegation.
 
4.  While recommending the adoption of their UPR report, we congratulate the delegation of China on a successful review.
