Statement by India during Interactive Dialogue at 4th UPR of Monaco during the 45th Session of  Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group (22 January-2 February 2024) delivered by Shri K.S.Mohammed Hussain, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, Geneva on 29 January 2024

Mr. President, 

   India thanks the delegation of Monaco for the presentation of its National Report.

  2. India takes note of Monaco’s efforts to strengthen its domestic legal and institutional mechanisms for the promotion and protection of human rights, including economic, social and cultural rights.

  3. India appreciates Monaco for its new law to fight against human trafficking, thereby applying  the offence of trafficking to all forms of human trafficking, whether national or transnational and whether or not they are linked to organized crime.

  4. India takes note of Monaco’s efforts to promote gender equality and recommends Monaco to continue to strengthen its efforts to combat gender-based violence against women.

  5. We wish the delegation of Monaco all success in its review.
