Statement by India during the Interactive Dialogue in the 4th Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Central African Republic in the 45th Session of UPR Working Group (22 January to 2 February 2024) delivered by Mr. Kshitij Tyagi, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India,

Mr. President,

    India warmly welcomes the delegation of Central African Republic.

2. We appreciate the measures taken by Central African Republic such as increased budgetary allocation to health and other steps aimed at better access to healthcare for women and girls.

3. We also commend the legislative measures taken by Central African Republic to combat human trafficking.

4. In the spirit of constructive dialogue, we recommend the following to Central African Republic:

a) Continue efforts to combat discrimination and protect rights of vulnerable groups

b) Continue to implement measures for empowerment of women

c) Continue the efforts towards improving education infrastructure and facilitating access to free basic education for all children

5. We wish Central African Republic every success in its future endeavours.
