Statement by India at the Organizational Meeting of the 54 th session of Human Rights Council (11 September-13 October 2023) delivered by

Mr. President,
On behalf of my delegation, I thank you for chairing this meeting. I also thank colleagues for sharing useful information about their initiatives, new and old, for the forthcoming session of the Council.
As part of the commemoration of the 75 th anniversary of UDHR and 30 th anniversary of VDPA, India is planning to organise a side event, along with other partner countries, on implementing the right to development for realising human rights and the 2030 Agenda. This is in line with the monthly thematic spotlight for September 2023 under OHCHR’s Human Rights 75 initiative on ‘Social protection, sustainable development, and right to development’. We look forward to your active participation.
In conclusion, I assure you of the full cooperation and constructive participation of my delegation at the upcoming session.
