Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of Czechia at the 53rd Session of the Human Rights Council (19th June – 14th July 2023) delivered by Mr. Pawankumar Badhe, Counsellor

Mr. President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of Czechia for the adoption of the Working Group’s report on its UPR undertaken on 23rd January 2023. 

2.India appreciates the constructive engagement by the delegation of Czechia during the entire review, which reflects the strong commitment that Czechia attaches to the UPR process.

3.The review saw substantive and constructive engagement with 93 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 242 recommendations. We appreciate that Czechia has accepted 207 recommendations, including all 5 made by us. 

4.While recommending the adoption of the report, we congratulate the delegation of Czechia for its successful review and wish it success in implementing the accepted recommendations.
