Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of       Algeria at the 52nd Session of the Human Rights Council

Madam Vice-President,

1.  We warmly welcome the delegation of Algeria for the adoption of the Working Group’s report on its UPR undertaken on 11th November 2022.

2.  India appreciates the constructive engagement by the delegation of Algeria during the entire review.

3.  The review saw active participation and constructive engagement with 122 delegations taking the floor. Accepting 264 recommendations, including all 2 from India out of a total 290 recommendations that Algeria received shows the strong commitment that Algeria attaches to the UPR process.

4.  While recommending the adoption of the report, we congratulate the delegation of Algeria for its successful review and wish it success in implementing the accepted recommendations.
