Madam Vice-President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of Ecuador for the adoption of the Working Group’s report on its UPR undertaken on 7th November 2022.

  1. India appreciates the constructive engagement by the delegation of Ecuador during the entire review.

  2. The review saw active participation and constructive engagement with 70 delegations taking the floor. Accepting 144 recommendations, including all 4 from India out of a total 174 recommendations that Ecuador received, shows the strong commitment that Ecuador attaches to the UPR process.

  3. While recommending the adoption of the report, we congratulate the delegation of Ecuador for its successful review and wish it success in implementing the accepted recommendations.
