Mr. President,

We warmly welcome the presentation by the delegation of Morocco.

2. We commend Morocco for the many initiatives outlined in its National Report to promote and protect human rights since the last review in 2017. We welcome the adoption of the National Action Plan for Democracy and Human Rights and the National Strategy for Sexual and Reproductive Health (2021-2030). We also note with appreciation the implementation of the second iteration of the Government Plan for Equality 2017-2021.

3. In the spirit of constructive cooperation, India recommends the following to Morocco:

i. Continue with legislative and policy measures for the progressive realisation of gender equality and to address gender-based discrimination;

ii. Consider further measures aimed at ensuring access to quality education for all children; and,

iii. Continue to strengthen efforts to ensure promotion and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.

iv. We wish the delegation of Morocco all the success in its review.

I thank you.
