Thank you, Madam Vice President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of Eswatini for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its 3rd Universal Periodic Review that was held on 08 November, 2021. 

  1. 2.The review saw substantive participation with 79 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 222 recommendations.
  1. 3.India appreciates that as many as 156 recommendations have been accepted by Eswatini, including 3 recommendations made by us. We also appreciate the constructive engagement by the delegation of Eswatini during the entire review, which reflects the strong commitment Eswatini attaches to the UPR process. 
  1. 4.India also appreciates the development of sectoral human rights policies and the Economic Recovery Plan 2020, aimed at mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
  1. 5.We warmly congratulate Eswatini for a successful review and wish them all the success in their efforts for implementing the accepted recommendations.
