Mr. President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of Suriname for the adoption of the Working Group’s report on its UPR undertaken on 9th November, 2021.

2.  India appreciates the constructive engagement by the delegation of Suriname during the entire review.

3.  The review saw active participation and constructive engagement with 53 delegations taking the floor. Accepting 94 recommendations, including all 3 from Indiaout of a total 147 recommendations that Suriname received shows the strong commitment that Suriname attaches to the UPR process.

4.  While recommending the adoption of the report, we congratulate the delegation of Suriname for its successful review and wish it success in implementing the accepted recommendations.
