Madam President,

India is not a State Party to the Arms Trade Treaty and, therefore, we are unable to endorse the preambular paragraph 14 in its present form. We, therefore, disassociate ourselves from the preambular paragraph 14 of this resolution. However, in view of the importance that we attach to the impact of illegal and illicit transfer of arms on human rights, we join the consensus on the resolution.

I thank you Madam President.
