Madam President,

 

We warmly welcome the delegation of Seychelles for the adoption of the Working Group’s report on its UPR undertaken on 14th May, 2021.

  • 2.The review saw active participation and constructive engagement with 83 delegations taking the floor and making 215 recommendations. It is commendable that as many as 209 recommendations have been accepted by Seychelles. It reflects the strong commitment that Seychelles attaches to the UPR process and implementation of its human rights obligations. We appreciate that Seychelles has accepted all the 3 recommendations made by India.

  • 3.India acknowledges the challenges and constraints faced by Seychelles and remains committed to extend all possible assistance to Seychelles in its endeavor to fulfil its obligations.

  • 4.While recommending the adoption of the report, we congratulate the delegation of Seychelles for its successful review and wish it success in implementing the accepted recommendations.
