Madam President,

1.We warmly welcome the delegation of Somalia for the adoption of the Working Group’s report on its UPR undertaken on 11th May, 2021.

  • 2.The review saw active participation and constructive engagement with 101 delegations taking the floor and making 273 recommendations. It is commendable that as many as 246 recommendations have been accepted by Somalia. It reflects the strong commitment that Somalia attaches to the UPR process and implementation of its human rights obligations. We appreciate that Somalia has accepted all the 3 recommendations made by India.

  • 3.While recommending the adoption of the report, we congratulate the delegation of Somalia for its successful review and wish it success in implementing the accepted recommendations.
  • Thank you, Madam President.
