Madam  President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of Mongolia for the adoption of the Working Group’s report on its UPR undertaken on 04 November, 2020.

2. The review saw active participation and constructive engagement with 71 delegations taking the floor and making 190 recommendations. Its commendable that as many as 170 out of it have been accepted by Mongolia. We appreciate that Mongolia has accepted all 3 recommendations made by India.

3.  We appreciate the constructive engagement by the delegation of Mongolia during the review process and the progress made by Mongolia in harmonizing its national laws with the international treaties to which it is a party. We also appreciate the adoption and implementation of long-term policy plan - Vision 2050 to ensure human rights, freedom and equal opportunity for its citizens.

4.  While recommending the adoption of the report, we warmly congratulate the delegation of Mongolia for its successful review. We also wish Mongolia all success in implementing the accepted recommendations.

Thank you, Madam President.
