Statement by India under Agenda Item 6 : Adoption of UPR Outcomes of Grenada at the 45th Session of the Human Rights Council (14 September – 07 October 2020) delivered by Mr. Pawankumar Badhe, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India (Geneva, 29 September 2020)
Madam Vice-President,
India warmly welcomes the delegation of Grenada for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its 3rd Universal Periodic Review that was held on 27 January 2020.
2. India also had the honour to facilitate the review of Grenada as a member of troika during the process, which saw a substantive participation and engagement by as many as 59 members.
3. India appreciates the constructive engagement by the delegation of Grenada during the entire review. Accepting 99 recommendations including 2 from India out of a total 148 recommendations that Grenada received shows the strong commitment that Grenada attaches to the UPR process.
4. While recommending the adoption of the report on its UPR, we warmly congratulate Grenada for a successful review and wish them all success in efforts for implementing the accepted recommendations.
