Madam Vice President

India warmly welcomes the distinguished delegation of Guinea Bissau and thanks the delegation for presenting the National Report.

2. We commend the progress made by Guinea Bissau since its second UPR.

3. We recommend the following to Guinea Bissau:

Strengthen the National Human Rights Mechanism and the legislative framework thereof in accordance with the Paris Principles.

Continue cooperation with the United Nations and other relevant International Organizations to further strengthen its national laws and align them in conformity with international human rights law.

Continue to intensify the efforts for implementation of Terra Ranka Strategic and operational plan.

We wish Guinea Bissau the very best.
