Mr. President,

It will be difficult to achieve SGD3 without addressing the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health.

2. The draft under consideration seeks to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health for a further period of three years. This would help the SR to carry out the activities as per the mandate including reporting both the Human Rights Council and the General Assembly. We encourage the SR to continue constructive engagement with all stakeholders with a view to maximizing the benefits of the reporting process.

Thank you, Mr. President.
