Mr. President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of Egypt. We note with appreciation that Egypt Vision 2030 is committed to sustainable development as well as inclusive growth. 

2. We welcome the numerous positive measures taken such as allocation of 25% of seats for women in the National Parliament, the National Strategy for Childhood and Motherhood as well as 5% reservation of posts in government services for persons with disabilities.  

3. India recommends the following to Egypt:

Continue the ongoing efforts for reducing unemployment levels as well as for enhancing access to affordable housing.

Implement the ongoing measures for empowerment of women.

Continue further measures on education and capacity building for those engaged in the rehabilitation of victims of trafficking. 

Continue the ongoing efforts at combating terrorism and measures aimed at protecting lives of the people in this context.
