Mr. President,

India thanks the delegation of Israel for the presentation of its National Report.

2. We appreciate the continued efforts of Israel to promote gender equality, particularly in political, economic and social spheres. We note the measures taken by Israel to empower minorities, including promoting education among Arab students, improving transportation infrastructure and expansion of industrial zones in minority localities.

3. We also note the progress on the rights of children and their welfare, particularly in the areas of education and health. The promulgation of regulations mandating accessibility to public places and services for all persons with disabilities is commendable.

4. We would like to recommend that Israel continues with implementation of measures for the development of minorities. We also recommend to the Israeli delegation to work for the better integration of new Jewish immigrants from other countries into Israeli society and to continue with their efforts to counter racial discrimination.

5. We wish the delegation of Israel every success in all their endeavours.

Thank you Mr. President.
