Mr. President,

1.      India warmly welcomes the delegation of Maldives led by Foreign Secretary for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its Universal Periodic Review. We thank the delegation for their comprehensive presentation. India was glad to assist this process as one of the countries amongst the Troika for the UPR of Maldives, along with France and Argentina.

While recommending the adoption of the report on its UPR, we warmly congratulate Maldives for its successful review. We wish the Government of Maldives all success in implementing the accepted recommendations.

Thank you, Mr. President.
