82nd Edition of the Know India Programme

Know India Programme (KIP) is a flagship programme of the Ministry of External Affairs for the Indian Diaspora youth between the age group of 21-35 years. The primary objective of the KIP is to foster a closer connection between Indian diaspora youth and their ancestral homeland by augmenting their understanding of India. The Programme provides a platform for the Person of Indian Origin (PIO) youth to familiarize themselves with the contemporary India, through a three-week ‘knowledge tourism’ programme providing them an exposure to different aspects of the growth and development of India. The programme is open to youth of Indian origin (excluding Non-Resident Indians). A maximum of 40 Indian Diaspora youth are selected for each programme and provided full hospitality in India.

Since its inception in 2003-04, Ministry of External Affairs has successfully organized 81 editions of the KIP with participation of 2922 youth PIO members. Ministry of External Affairs invites applications for the 82nd edition of the KIP from 12 to 31 May 2025 as the first in the series of many for this financial year.

If you are a PIO member in the age group of 21-35 years, you can be one of the lucky participants of 82nd KIP and visit India for a 3-week programme and see for yourself the various facets of contemporary Indian Art, Heritage, Culture, Economy, Innovations, Start-ups, Science & Technology, etc. Come and witness the country’s march towards Viksit Bharat. The last date to apply for 82nd KIP is 18 April 2025.
